Waypoints at St.Budeaux, Plymouth

We are delighted to announce the opening of our latest dementia care home with nursing in Plymouth. Waypoints Plymouth was officially opened on 7th December 2012 by Angela Rippon OBE, the well known personality and TV presenter. As many will know Angela is from Plymouth and is an ambassador of the Alzheimer’s Society.

Waypoints Care Group is dedicated to creating residential care homes that are reassuring and familiar, supporting residents with dementia through individual, person-centred care.

Our new home has been designed to the very highest standards. Set over two floors each of the 64 bedrooms has its own wet-room ensuite facilities. The home is divided into four separate units, each containing 16 bedrooms. Each unit is individually themed to cater for different forms and stages of dementia, from early onset to the more acute cases with their greater care requirements.

Giving your loved ones plenty to live for and enjoy – every day

One of the most important aspects of the home is the social hub, a place where people can meet, socialise and enjoy a wide range of daily activities and entertainment.
The hub contains the Tamar café bar and bistro, the Estuary View restaurant with a roof terrace offering superb views over the estuary and countryside, an activities room, hairdressers, garden room and a reminder of the past at ‘Ye Olde Sweet Shop.’

The wider view

Gardens have a vital contribution to make in improving the quality of life for our residents. The calm and pleasant garden room overlooks the tropical plants and water feature in the beautiful courtyard garden. There is also a large and secure garden with scenic views, the perfect place for residents to enjoy the outside space with relatives and friends.

Everything we do is geared towards creating a sense of independence, normality and enjoyment.

A pioneering concept in dementia care

The Waypoints Philosophy is all about creating a sense of independence, normality and enjoyment.
We understand just how hard it is to come to terms with dementia and believe in the power of the very best and most uplifting environment to provide the optimum quality of life for our residents. For us, that means purpose designed, purpose built, brand new homes built to our own exacting layouts and specifications. It also means making sure that the views and wishes of the residents always come first.
Our new home at Ernesettle Lane, our second dementia care home, offers person-centered care based around an individual care plan created by family, friends and professionals. The plan is constantly reviewed and updated to ensure that we are providing the best possible support. We adapt our approach to suit the likes, dislikes, choices and dignity of each resident.
