Lytchett Minster Carnival

Lytchett Minster Carnival

On Saturday 16th July, residents, relatives and staff took to the streets of Upton to take part in the fifth annual Upton and Lytchett Minster Carnival.

The colourful procession organised by the Beacon Association supports the local community and raises monies for local charities.

Complete with our very own queen, staff and residents waved flags and cheered as floats, local dance troupes, community groups and bands processioned through the town.

Carnivals are a wonderful source of memories for our residents, many of whom would have attended similar processions with their families as children and as parents. The beautiful weather and celebratory atmosphere combined to create a brilliant day.

Tara D'Arcy, home manager at Waypoints in Upton, said:

"The carnival was excellent this year, full of entertainment and widely supported. It was lovely to see so many local people in attendance. It's very important that the home is part of the wider community and events like this only help to strengthen those ties."
